Catalysis at the room temperature ionic liquid|water interface: H2O2 generation

GA_Chem_commun2015
Scheme of the suggested process.

Another paper in the series of investigations of H2O2-generation at liquid|liquid interfaces was just accepted in Chemical Communications. In this case it’s an RTIL|water interface where oxygen is reduced by an electron donor, decamethylferrocene in the ionic liquid, with protons coming from the acidic water phase.

This is work done in collaboration with Hubert Girault’s group in Lausanne. Wojtek is part of the collaboration and is one of the co-authors of the paper. Congratulations.
